Tips & Shortcuts

A collection of small habits that make daily work noticeably faster.

Search from anywhere

Press Ctrl+K (Cmd+K on a Mac) to open the global search from any page. Results appear live as you type, grouped by what they are — contacts, notes, and more. Use the arrow keys to move through results and Enter to jump straight to the record.

Tip
Global search finds records; the filter panel on a list finds sets of records. Use
search for "take me to Jane", filters for "show me everyone matching these conditions" — see
Filtering & Searching.

Work the lists like a pro

  • Saved views remember your columns, sort, and filters. Save one per recurring job ("My open

follow-ups") and switch views instead of rebuilding filters. Space-level views share the setup with your whole team.

  • The page URL carries your list state — copy it from the address bar and send it to a

colleague; they open the same page, same sort, same filter.

  • Column settings let you hide what you never read. Fewer columns means faster scanning.
  • Edits collect in the edit cart until you save — you can edit several rows across pages and

save once. Remember: exports and other people see saved data only, so save before you share.

Let the system watch for you

  • Turn on notifications for the events you care about and mute the rest — the bell badge updates

live. See Notifications.

  • Before trusting an automation, run it as a test on a real record and read the report of what

it would have done. See Automations.

  • After a big import, open the job's per-row results once — thirty seconds of review catches

mapping mistakes while they are still easy to fix. See Importing & Exporting.

On a phone or tablet

  • The navigation collapses into a menu button; on documentation pages, use Browse help topics

to open the topic list.

  • Lists switch to a stacked layout — the same records, filters, and saved views, arranged for a

narrow screen.

  • Everything you can do on the desktop is permission-checked identically on mobile; nothing extra

is exposed.

When something looks off

  • "Why can't I see or do X?" — it is almost always a permission or a space ceiling. Your

administrator can answer definitively in one click with the Permission Tester — see Who Can See What.

  • "Which version am I on?" — the version badge in the header names the exact release, and

What's New lists what changed in it.

  • "My export is missing my edits" — save the edit cart first; exports reflect saved data.
Note
These docs are always available from the Docs entry in the navigation, and every
topic page has a numbered sidebar for quick jumps.
